Vice President, Construction - Completed

Our Client is an entrepreneurial and growing Real Estate and infrastructure investment company based in Washington D.C. and owned by a European Real Estate Group with over 70 years of experience developing and constructing industrial, commercial, multifamily and mixed-use projects.
They are in the early stages of developing a 314-acre industrial and data center campus and are looking to hire a construction/development leader to advance this project and successive projects in the US.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead diligence and selection process of all 3rd party consultants, including design (architect, engineers), other consultants and general contractors as needed for new/ground up, renovation and/or land development projects.
- Daily oversight of all construction projects including management of all architects & engineering consultants, including RFI’s, submittals and construction change directives.
- Financial management of project to include development of budgets, tracking of costs, cash flow forecasting and monthly contractor requisitions.
- Establish and oversee project schedule, tracking and reporting systems for life cycle of project.
- Provide conceptual and pre-construction estimating for all aspects of projects.
- Oversee building commissioning services, on-site inspections and project close out.
- Work closely with senior leadership to obtain project entitlements; attend meetings with regulatory agencies and stakeholders to establish their needs and discuss design/permitting issues, as needed.
- Manage procurement of project permits and approvals.
- Effectively communicate information regarding project status to senior leadership.
- Develop and own relationships with GCs and design consultants.
- Assemble and lead a team of direct reports as needed.
- Contribute to site evaluations and make recommendations for new project pursuits.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Architectural Engineering or other related field.
- 10+ years of experience working in construction management. Experience with a real estate developer or as an owners’ rep preferred. Data center experience a plus
- Experience with site development required.
- Ability to read and interpret project documents and drawings.
- Solid problem solving and analytical skills; ability to effectively react to and manage unforeseen schedules and situations with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate in a small team environment.
- Self‐motivated with the ability to multi‐task and prioritize with minimal direction.
- Display excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Work and manage a team well under pressure.
- Be able to travel to projects in the Mid-Atlantic as neededations
