POSITION SUMMARY

The Managing Director, Chief Investment Officer, will join the Executive Leadership Team and lead the establishment and growth of our internal investment management platform including opportunistic and core strategies. Reporting directly to the CEO, this leadership role will have primary responsibility for building out this platform and managing capital from global allocators. They will also oversee portfolio management and the long-term execution of portfolio strategy. The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in real estate investment management and a proven track record of success in raising capital, structuring deals, and delivering strong investment performance. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • As a member of the senior leadership team, collaborate with the Executive Leadership Team in helping set strategic direction for the Company.
  • Develop, implement, and execute strategic plan to build out the Company’s internal investment management platform.
  • Represent Company at external forums by building brand awareness and credibility. Serve as a key point of contact for prospective investors, lenders, JV partners, etc. by marketing the firm’s superiority.
  • Lead capital formation activities: identify, cultivate, secure commitments, and maintain relationships with global allocators aligned with Company thesis.
  • Oversee the execution of property level capital stack including equity, debt, and subsidies.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to evaluate investment opportunities and guide transactions team in the structuring, negotiation, and execution of real estate transactions.
  • Develop and implement a best-in-class Portfolio Management platform for owned and third-party assets.
  • Oversee operations of owned real estate portfolio. Monitor, evaluate, and assess financial strength and performance of portfolio investments for value creation and risk mitigation.
  • Optimize existing assets and implement institutional reporting systems. Ensure proper investor financial reporting and fiscal control of owner-controlled properties.
  • Strategically evaluate portfolio and make recommendations to optimize investment returns and achieve strategic business plans.
  • Collaborate with Data services team for portfolio analytics and reporting upgrades.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, real estate, or a related field; MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in real estate investment private equity/advisory/management. Proven track record of continuous leadership growth within sophisticated, institutional platforms.
  • Proven track record of successfully raising capital from global allocators and delivering strong investment performance.
  • Deep understanding of real estate markets, investment strategies, and financial analysis techniques. Prior exposure and/or familiarity within life sciences/healthcare a plus.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams to achieve ambitious goals.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with investors, partners, and internal stakeholders.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to identify emerging trends and opportunities in the real estate investment landscape.

COMPENSATION

Compensation includes base salary, discretionary bonus, and participation in long-term incentive programs. The company provides a 401k match, employer-paid health insurance, and unlimited PTO.
