Financial Controller

POSITION SUMMARY

This organization is looking for an experienced financial accounting professional, working closely with the CFO, Head of Finance, and the capital partners shareholder investor team, to continue developing the finance and accounting function/department. The key priorities cover:

  • Reporting capabilities: internal (management pack) and external
  • Integrated cash flow planning for OpCo and PropCo funding
  • System upgrades to support the above

In addition, the role holder will support the general institutionalization of the operating platform, including aspects such as the risk control and reporting frameworks to support financial and operational activities. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

The Financial Controller will report to the Chief Financial Officer and will require close interaction with key internal and external stakeholders throughout the company. Individuals are expected to be self- starters, have strong financial acumen, possess excellent communications skills, and to thrive in an entrepreneurial environment while bringing an institutional level work ethic and work product. Primary responsibilities include:

  • Production of the monthly financial reporting for the operating company, capital partner, and its subsidiary undertakings (the Group).
  • Supervising the preparation of reconciliations and other control documentation in line with Group requirements.
  • Production of annual statutory accounts for the Group entities and ensuring accuracy of figures, consistency with management accounts, and correct reporting treatment
  • Assistance with the roll-out and maintenance of standardized financial control processes and procedures to ensure a strong, robust financial governance framework.
  • Constant review of appropriateness of systems and control frameworks to underpin reliable accounting information and robust financial controls Regular interaction with capital partners shareholders to ensure compatibility with Group shareholders’ systems and processes, and suitability to manage and report for third party capital in future periods.
  • Ensuring the reliable reporting and forecasting of liquidity in the Group’s various entities to ensure working capital is managed efficiently.
  • Providing visibility to the capital partners shareholders around the use of cash and capital.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Finance, Accounting, Business, or Real Estate
  • Professional financial accounting qualification
  • Minimum 7 years’ work experience in financial accounting
  • Experience within a private equity backed or real estate business
  • Experience of working in complex financial control environment with multiple entities and consolidations preferable
  • Experience of operating in robust financial control frameworks
  • Experience of working to tight external reporting deadlines, ideally in large corporate teams
  • Highly proficient user of accounting platforms, experience setting up budgeting and forecasting platforms preferred
  • Ability to adapt within a fast paced and high growth environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including familiarity with presenting to a variety of audience, ability to collaborate across the team, and passion for interacting with other business units
  • Ability to work proactively, both independently and in teams, and exhibit accountability of deliverables
  • Demonstrated experience in supporting efforts to expand diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging

COMPENSATION

Compensation includes base salary, discretionary bonus, and incentives.
