Investment Analyst/Senior

Overview of Role:
Reporting directly to the Company Principals, this role will provide in-depth financial & operational analytical support to strategically optimize the firm’s portfolio of real estate investments. By closely monitoring the investment performance throughout the core portfolio of assets, the analyst will provide critical financial analysis to support short and long term, strategic business decisions for the firm.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain financial models to analyze asset performance utilizing cash flow projections, sensitivity analysis, and investment return metrics/calculations.
- Track key performance indicators (KPIs) within the core portfolio of assets by evaluating operational performance, occupancy rates, lease terms, capital expenditures, and net operating income.
- Collaborate with senior leadership team in developing asset management strategies, including refinancing, acquisitions, dispositions, and redevelopment initiatives.
- Work closely with third party property management and leasing groups along with internal finance/accounting teams to ensure alignment with short- and long-term asset performance goals/objectives.
o Review and analyze lease agreements, assess tenant credit quality, and monitor lease expirations to minimize vacancy risk and optimize rental income.
o Provide finance/accounting groups with accurate financial projections, valuations, appraisal reviews, and general market comps to assist in the annual and quarterly budgeting/forecasting process.
- Conduct comprehensive market analysis to evaluate trends, competitive positioning, and potential risks and opportunities in various real estate markets.
- Identify and assess potential risks related to market fluctuations, tenant defaults, or regulatory changes and recommend mitigation strategies.
- Prepare detailed performance reports and presentations for senior management, investors, and stakeholders, summarizing financial metrics, market trends, and operational performance.
Key Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in real estate, finance, economics, business administration, or a related field.
- 1-3 years of real estate analytical experience within a sophisticated, institutional real estate platform. Strong preference for broad asset class exposure (office, retail, multifamily, etc.).
- Exceptional quantitative skills with the ability to analyze, interpret, and communicate complex financial data. Must have experience using Argus.
- Understanding of real estate operations, including but not limited to, property management, leasing, construction, and the impacts they have on asset/portfolio valuations and performance.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly present financial information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Elevated level of accuracy and attention to detail in preparing reports, models, and analyses.
- Ability to work in a collaborative team environment while managing multiple projects and meeting deadlines.
